Thomas Turbyeville is a filmmaker, musician, and creative storyteller with a passion for bringing bold ideas to life on screen and through sound. His journey has been anything but conventional—home-schooled until 16, he fast-tracked his education through Black River Technical Community College before earning an honors degree in Computer Information Systems from the College of the Ozarks by 21.
After graduating, Thomas moved to Kansas City, where he spent several years touring and recording as a musician before transitioning into filmmaking in 2013 upon returning to Springfield, Missouri. His passion for cinema eventually led him to Los Angeles in 2018, where he completed a feature-length film script and began preproduction. When the pandemic disrupted the industry, he relocated back to Springfield and launched principal photography on the project in March 2021. Production wrapped in 2023, and he is currently in the final stages of post-production.
Beyond filmmaking, Thomas remains deeply involved in music, continuing to write, produce, and perform. His dual expertise in film and music fuels his creative vision, blending striking visuals with compelling soundscapes.
